| Carmel Beach, taken near the entrance at the end of Carmel's main street. There was more flotsam on the beach than usual due to the storms of the previous day.
| John's head eclipses the sunset. His hair is done by his cousin, in case you were wondering.

| I think to get really good wave shots, you have to take dozens of pictures and hope a few get snapped at the right moment. That's why I need a good digital camera. This picture came out OK.
| This was another attempted wave shot, not as successful. The point in the background is nice.

| There were a lot of dogs playing in the water; though you can't really tell, this is a shot of a yellow Lab that kept going in after a tennis ball.
| I was attempting to get the curve of a wave on this shot; the glare of the sun blocks that out, but it's an interesting picture anyway.

| After we walked to the far end of the beach, we saw the sun glaring off the windows of a house. You can also see the kelp beds and some nice patterns in the water.
| After sunset, the colors are just amazing. Life imitates art.
|
| This was taken as we were walking back, about a minute after the sun went behind the offshore clouds.
